A Huge Overhaul


Project redesign!

It’s been a while since we made any updates to our game. Over 250 commits, even, but who’s counting?

In that time, our main artist, Brendan has been doing a ton of work revamping the character art, various tiles in our game, and the gorgeous background behind every level. There’s also now in-level music in addition to the music in the menus. And we’re still adding more new art each day.

Jules completely redid the way we do movement for the main character to make it a lot snappier, then redid the level selection and made several improvements to the level editor, among plenty of other bugfixes along the way.

Graham worked on trimming unnecessary parts of existing levels, and adding a bunch more new ones, especially in the All Spells section. Levels should flow more smoothly now, and should also hit a higher skill ceiling by the end of what we have for now.

We’re all really excited to continue working on this game, now that we feel like we have more of a cohesive idea for where it’s going in the future
